Hello Bloomies 🙂
Please see below a list of supplies you need for each week including your tools and flowers. If you can’t source something let me know and I can give you some more information.
Each week you will bring your own botanicals to create with in class. You can sourced dried products from your gardens or during some nature walks. You can eve use potpourri kits that you can find in cheap shops. Lavender and Statice is around a lot of gardens and dries well if you hang it upside down, so does small roses.Â
You can purchase some preserved flowers from florist shops but this can be quite expensive. I do have preserved flower kits which are a small food box of mixed preserved blooms. The cost of this is $30 each. You can also buy them from Amazon Prime, using keywords such as dried flower, preserved flower. But don’t get the pressed or flat ones, we need the 3D aspect of the elements to give them arrangements some dimension and shape. Â
You can also bring in some artificial blooms to add to your creation. We’ve also added some buttons, crystals and feathers.Â
I will be supplying all tools that you can use in class and we will be working out of hot glue pots. Please bring some hot glue sticks with you to class to replenish the supplies. You can get these from Bunnings or spotlight or cheap shops. Please stick to clear.Â
WRIST CORSAGE
Please bring in a ribbon of your colour choice, 25mm wide. You need about a metre for the wrist corsage tie, but sometimes it’s best to bring 2m incase you get hot glue on it. I will have white, cream and black for $1 a metre if you prefer that option.
We will be working with wired bases for this project. You will learn how to make a nest and attach it to a ribbon base to tie on your your write (or with a longer ribbon you could tie it around your waist or even around your head or neck)
COMB
You can bring in a comb/headband of your own or I will have some to purchase $2 each. I have gold and silver toned metal ones and clear plastic ones.Â
We will be learning how to use felt to expand the attachment zone for the blooms and how this can be applied to different attachment supplies.Â
Consider who this is for. If it’s for an adult or a cild it will greatly affect the size of the piece we make. And also if it is sitting flat o the hair or into a bun. We will make sure the piece you make suits the purpose.
WIRE CROWN
We will be making a wire base and using felt to support the shape to make an all round flower crown. All supplies are provided for this one.
Consider who you are making this one for. For yourself or for a child? That will help us get the size right and also consider the weight of it. Lots of heavy gum nuts can be too much for a child’s head.Â
JEWELLERY PIECE
This project is a bit of your choice. We will discuss in week 1 what you might like to make. It could be a ring, a bracelet, a necklace or something else.Â
